Set in the summer of 1958, two teenage brothers, David and Alan, discover a mysterious girl, Meg, hiding in their neighbor’s basement. The neighbor, Ruth Chandler (a terrifying turn by Blanche Baker), is Meg’s aunt. Ruth is a sadist who, along with her three sons and the local neighborhood children, begins a systematic campaign of psychological and physical torture against Meg.
