For eight years, fans believed Season 4 was the end. Then, in 2016, Fox announced a revival. Season 5 (subtitled Prison Break: Resurrection or simply Season 5 ) premiered in 2017.
This is where the legend began. Season 1 introduces us to structural engineer Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller), who gets himself intentionally arrested to break out his innocent brother, Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell), who is on death row for a crime he didn’t commit.
Season 2 shifts the genre from prison escape to fugitive thriller. The title Prison Break becomes ironic because the characters spend the entire season running from the law.
Season 3 answers the question: Can you break out of the same hell twice? After escaping the US, Michael and Lincoln are trapped in Sona, a brutal, riot-torn prison in Panama where the inmates run the show.
Originally intended to be the end, Season 4 changes the formula entirely. The brothers are recruited by a covert Homeland Security agent to take down "The Company"—the shadowy organization that framed Lincoln.
